文の冒頭は省略形にしない

論文で省略形を使うことがあるが、そのときに小文字だと文の冒頭が小文字になるのでなるべく正式名称を使うべきだそうだ。
例えば、Single-cell RNA sequencingをscRNA-seqと省略形を使う場合。

Single-cell RNA sequencing allows analysis of complete sequences of antigen receptors in individual cells.

ただし、文頭に省略形を使っている論文も存在する。
例えばこちらの論文だと、こういう書き方になっている。
ScRNA-seq data of each of the samples involved was deposited as a dataset in the public repositories.
